
Chattanooga TN - More barriers to smoking -- including higher taxes and a statewide smoking ban -- are encouraging more Tennesseans to take steps to break the habit, state and local health officials say.
"I think it's a combination of fewer convenient places to smoke ... and just the growing social unacceptability" of being a smoker, said Jay Collum, coordinator of tobacco use, prevention and education at the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department.
